Heartfelt Thanks...
I want to acknowledge the individuals that comprise my care team and thank them for their roles, both individually and collectively, with my deepest gratitude.
The care I have received from Dr. Heather Ross and the team at Toronto General Hospital was, and continues to be, compassionate, supportive, encouraging and empowering. Their commitment and passion to their respective fields, their altruistic approach to their patients’ well-being and the collaborative care they have provided me has been nothing short of phenomenal. They catapulted me from what seemed at the time an ominous, losing battle, to a level playing field, equipped and protected.
To these individuals, thank you…I will always be grateful.

In our darkest moments, we become acutely aware of the importance of certain people in our lives. Thank you to the family, friends and neighbours that extended their support and assistance throughout this time. Certain people, in particular, were powerful sources of encouragement:
Dr. Jon-David Schwalm
A long-time friend, who offered expertise, attention and support.

Lyn Dunlop-Coughlin
My mother's dear friend who immediately expressed interest in donating to this cause when this idea was purely conceptual, and for being our very first donor!

Cameron Burke
My friend’s daughter, who at the age of 10, independently came up with her own ideas on how to support this mission and engage the next generation in raising awareness about heart disease.

And to my parents…
Dad, your carefree spirit and positive attitude has provided me with inspiration on how to live with this diagnosis. Mom, your engagement in this journey, coupled with your experience in the cardiac field, has been immensely valuable. Thank you to both of you, from the bottom of my heart.
